There is something really beautiful about film.

I’ve only ever known the days of digital photo taking and its apparent ease and speed. We’re living in a fast paced world after all, right? One of instant feedback and gratification. Well, as I’ve learnt over the past few weeks since getting my hands on my first film cameras,  film photography offers a whole new world and a promotes a whole new perspective. A world of gorgeous colour, tones, depth and soul that is totally worth the wait.

I’m only still getting my head around it all – still practising and learning. Shooting film has been a great way to challenge myself and have fun along the way. I’ve started to introduce a little bit of film into my engagement sessions – only one or two rolls – to experiment and play. I’m not saying these photos are anywhere near perfect, but for the first roll of film shot at an engagement session, I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. It can only get better from here.
